Why does the guidance change when I switch period?

Because the guidance is read for the period you selected, not once from the birth chart. Switching from the ten-year view to this month re-runs the calculation against the pillars in force for that window, so the advice moves with it. A static sentence reused in every period would mean the period switch was doing nothing.
