A pair of stars traditionally linked to being alone, few supports and thin family ties.
Grouped by the year branch: for Hai, Zi and Chou years, Solitary is at Yin and Widow at Xu; for Yin, Mao and Chen years, at Si and Chou; for Si, Wu and Wei years, at Shen and Chen; for Shen, You and Xu years, at Hai and Wei.

In practice it reads as carrying things alone and not asking for help. The real effect is usually not speaking up: practising saying what you need is far more useful than worrying about the label.
Used: it is used as a relationship signal in period analysis and in the advice copy.
